Old Mill Park Fall Wedding | Redwoods in Mill Valley, CA

This weekend was beautiful in the Bay Area with unseasonably warm temps, clear skies, fall colors, and the low sun in the sky. I was lucky to shoot two weddings over this gorgeous weekend, at two of my favorite redwood venues in Marin.


First up on Saturday was Old Mill Park in Mill Valley. We began at the bride's parents home in the gem of a locale, Belvedere. I was greeted by Peter, the Golden Retriever, that I had to throughly give attention to for about five minutes before he was satisfied. From there we headed to Mill Valley Inn where the groom had gotten ready and where we did their sweet first look. We walked to Old Mill Park for some wedding party and couple portraits and then snuck the bride into the library there, which if you haven't been in, and you like books at all, or you just like architecture, go check it out. Cozy and warm. Perfect for some reading.


I helped grandma down the stairs to the ceremony (a wedding photographer wears many hats), the violinist was a family friend, like the officiant, and the couple had a beautiful ceremony that afternoon under the tall redwoods, by the creek.


After the ceremony everyone meandered through Mill Valley to cocktail hour/reception at The Outdoor Art Club. Which is also a beautiful little oasis there on the corner of Throckmorton and Blithedale. I always love shooting at this venue because it feels intimate, has beautiful gardens and the building has an old feel to it with it's high dark ceilings and lights strung up inside. It's definitely a unique spot and fun for a photographer like myself.


Toasts, dancing, and merriment rounded out this sweet couples day. Thank you to all of the wonderful vendors who I hadn't worked with for a while, but it was like seeing old friends. Great crew and day for everyone. 10/10!
